Sandra R. Burton, age 88 and longtime resident of New Providence, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 20. She was born January 30, 1934 in Newark, NJ, and grew up in Bradley Beach, NJ. \n\nSandy worked for many years in activities and medical records at Glenside Nursing Home in New Providence. She was a member of the New Providence United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting for the prayer shawl ministry. Sandy created numerous beautiful needlepoint and afghan pieces for many to enjoy. She and her husband Glenn enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing during their many years together.\n\nSandy is predeceased by her husband Glenn Burton, brother Bertram MacTerrnan, sister-in-law Linda Aul, son-in-law Bruce Burke, and parents Ruth and Kenneth Aul. She is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Burke of Austin TX, Tammy Burton of Morganville NJ, and Holly Grosso of Whippany NJ, along with seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sandy is also survived by her brother David Aul and her sister-in-law Selma Penley.\n\nA Celebration of Life service will be held at the New Providence United Methodist Church, 1441 Springfield Avenue, on Saturday, March 18, at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the church. Please designate Memorial Fund. The service will be accessible via Zoom for those unable to attend.
