Michael Anthony Young, 62, of Monroe New Jersey passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15th. Michael was born on Saturday, September 2nd, 1961, in Plainfield, New Jersey. He was the fourth child of Richard and Laura Young and was raised in Mountainside, New Jersey. He graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in 1979.\n\nIn 1981, Michael joined the United States Navy. He was stationed in Long Beach, California where he served for five years. Traveling on the ships offered him the opportunity to see many parts of the world, which he enjoyed thoroughly.\n\nOn 9/30/1988 he married the late Linda Skolnik and eventually settled in Keansburg, New Jersey, where together they raised their four children. He was a hands-on dad and enjoyed the special relationships he had with each of his children.\n\nFor 20-plus years, Mike was employed by Stop and Shop. In the last ten years, he worked in the Monroe store where he was the Bakery manager. He was loved and admired by fellow employees and customers alike. He was very hard-working and dedicated to his position. He was always there with that big smile greeting customers.\n\nIn 2020 he met Theresa Walters. Together they enjoyed numerous day trips. They also loved Bradley Beach, miniature golf, shooting pool, and playing pickle ball. But their favorite activity was their nightly jeopardy competitions. They were married on 2/22/22 and purchased their home in the Clearbrook community in Monroe where they enjoyed the peace and quiet.\n\nMike is predeceased by his parents Richard and Laura Young, his wife Linda Young, and his sister. Eva Young.\n\nMike is survived by his devoted wife Theresa, and his four children whom he loved deeply. His daughter Danielle Cocuzza, his son Michael Young and partner Nicole Walters, daughter Alyssa Young and Husband Dan Shloyda, son Peyton Young and wife Erin Young, stepson Jeffrey Walters and wife Becca Nevins, his brother Richard and Priscilla Young, sister Beth and Tony Marasco, sister Theresa Young and wife Donna Sarullo, nieces, nephews, and cousins\n\nThere will be a celebration in his honor planned in the near future for close friends and family members.\n\nWhen you think of Mike, think of his smile.
