In Loving Memory of Fred Martin Schaaf\n\nFred Martin Schaaf, 54, of South Amboy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.\n\nFred was a devoted member of the Teamsters Local 282, where he dedicated over 25 years of his life to hard work and camaraderie. His loyalty and work ethic were unmatched, and he was respected by his colleagues and friends alike.\n\nFred was an avid NY Giants fan, he also loved fishing, boating, jet skiing, and dirt bike riding. \n\nHe adored spending time with his beloved dog and grand-dog, taking them for long walks and showering them with affection. His compassionate nature extended to his family, and he deeply cherished the moments he shared with them.\n\nFred is predeceased by his sister Lisa Strauss.\n \nHe is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, his son Christopher, and his siblings, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His sister Susan Peterson and her husband Ed, his brother Robert and his wife Megan, and his brother Thomas and his wife Kerri; Fred's parents, Ed and Liz Schaaf, who he treasured every moment he spent with them. Additionally, he leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.\n\nFuneral arrangements are under the direction and care of Aftercare Cremation Service and a private cremation will be held to honor his wishes.\n\nThough he may be physically absent, Fred's spirit will live on through the memories shared by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His zest for life, his kindness, and his adventurous soul will forever remain in our hearts.\n\nMay he rest in peace.
