Chun-Hsiung Yuen Obituary (1962 - 2023) - East Brunswick, New Jersey

Chun-Hsiung (Kevin) Yuen, 60, of Morganville, New Jersey passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with late stage lung cancer. Born in Taiwan, Kevin managed to find joy in his childhood despite his humble upbringing. He took pride in his academic achievements, including his Bachelor's degree in Physics from Tunghai University, where his study books are held in high regard. After completing his studies, he served in the Taiwan Military Police in Kaohsiung. In 1989, he continued his studies at the Illinois Institute of Tech where he later received his Master’s in Computer Science. In 1996, Kevin married and moved to Manalapan, New Jersey, where he enjoyed living with his family, before moving to Morganville in 2020. Kevin spent many years working as an independent Data Architect Consultant for small- and large-size financial institutions, before retiring and dedicating time to his family and compiling his work experience for pedagogy. Kevin found happiness in eating good food and even more, loved when others enjoyed his cooking. He always dreamed of opening his own noodle shop but his legacy lives on in the recipes he passed down to his kids. Kevin cherished traveling with his family and giving his children the opportunity to see the world. He was an avid sports fan, particularly passionate for the Chicago Bulls and New York Yankees. He enjoyed watching movies. Among his favorites were Top Gun, The Matrix, and Fast and Furious. Kevin is predeceased by his father, Pui-Kown Yuen. Kevin is survived by his mother Cheng-Hwo, wife of 26 years Peyhwa, daughter Tiffany and son Jonathan, siblings Grace Fan (Joe), Allen (Shirley), and David (Maggie); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In lieu of a public service, per Kevin’s will, donations in Kevin's memory can be made to the Illini 4000, to support cancer research and bring awareness with a 78-day, 4800-mile bike ride across America.
